Urban Tactical Matches are held on the third Saturday of the month. Come out and have some fun.
Our informal and friendly matches are designed to sharpen your accuracy while practicing skills needed in an urban setting with pistols, rifles, and shotguns; the use of cover and concealment; shooting and moving, and decisions about tactical reactions encountered in potential situations.
Participants range from moderately experienced shooters, up to advanced tactical shooters with military and police background – and everyone in between. We all help each other, share tips and tricks: we’ve even been known to lend a helping hand to a newer participant who may not yet have all three types of weapons. And most importantly, we have a great time doing it.
At our Urban Tactical Matches, we tend to incorporate fun yet challenging scenarios, sometimes based on real-life encounters, using two of the three types of weapons during a stage. This is different than a typical “3-gun” approach. During the matches, we will utilize a typical defensive type handgun, a rifle – often a semi-automatic .223 caliber – and some kind of shotgun, ranging from bird hunting types to full race ‘3-Gun’ models. Equipment needed for the matches should also include a pistol holster (rigid belt holsters are preferred) and at least 3 magazines or speed loaders with belt holders/pouches for at least two of those. Slings for the rifle and shotgun are also useful for certain scenarios. We use birdshot for shotgun, non-armor piercing ammo for rifle, and any typical pistol ammo.
Come out, make some friends, ask questions – we are all learning – and most of all – HAVE FUN!
