Urban Tactical Courses of Fire

— Urban Tactical Match info for SEPTEMBER 19, 2026:

This month we are back to our DAYTIME events; sign in will start at 9:15 AM and range will go hot at 10:00 AM. If you are available to come early and assist with set up, that is always appreciated.

We will be running PISTOL and RIFLE/PCC this month. Concealment is not required (though it is always an option).

We will be doing a stage loosely based on the recent In-N-Out shooting, where you will be required to draw and chamber a round using your weak hand only. To ensure that this portion is done safely, you will be chambering a dummy round/Snap-Cap, so if you have a dummy round/Snap-Cap for your pistol/caliber, please bring it with you. We should be able to provide them for 9mm, .40 S&W, and .45 ACP, but please bring any that you might have in pistol calibers. Target distances will run from 3 yards to 25+ yards.

For rifle/PCC, we will be engaging targets from a variety of barriers and shooting positions, at distances from 5 to 40+ yards. You will NEED a sling for this stage. If you absolutely cannot get a sling, we will modify the course for you, but it will cost you time.

Pistol round count will be a MINIMUM of 38 rounds (possibly many more, depending on how much you miss), and a MINIMUM of 3 pistol mags.

Rifle round count will be a MINIMUM of 68 rounds (possibly more), and a MINUMUM of two rifle mags.

— Urban Tactical Match info for AUGUST 15, 2026:

Reminder – August event will be held in conjunction with Low Light Tactics, and is a NIGHT EVENT. Safety brief will be at 6:00 PM, so be on site by 5:30.

This month, we have joined forces with Low Light Tactics to create a (hopefully) special end-of-summer experience. There will be three stages, and you will need all three guns (pistol, rifle/PCC, and shotgun).

Come prepared to shoot pistol from concealment. Every stage will have a concealment component, and no a towel around your waist “covering” your full race rig doesn’t count. If you are simply incapable of reasonably concealing your handgun and mags, then 1) Fix that and 2) fine, but there will be penalties on each stage.

This is a full 3-gun night.
There will be a pistol only stage.
There will be a pistol and rifle stage (could be shot with PCC, max distances will be within 150yds).
There will be a shotgun and pistol stage.

You will need a non-white admin light.

You will need a handheld tactical flashlight as well as whatever weapon mounted lights you have. Night vision is not required, but you are (of course) encouraged to bring it if you have it. Not all sections of all stages will be night vision compatible, but you may as well train with that expensive gear you bought.

You will need something to carry at least 3 rifle mags, at least 2 pistol mags, and at least 25 rounds of shotgun rounds. If all you have is pockets, hey, I won’t be at your gunfight – you do you.

Ammo Requirements:
At least 100 rounds for rifle (or PCC if you’re feeling froggy).
At least 100 rounds for pistol.
At least 50 rounds of bird (no steel shot).
AT LEAST 4 slugs.————————————————————————————————————————-

— Urban Tactical Match info for JULY 18, 2026:

NOTE – THIS IS A NIGHT MATCH. WE WILL HAVE THE SAFETY BRIEFING AT 7:30 PM, AND START SHOOTING AROUND 8:00 PM. IF YOU CAN COME A BIT EARLY TO ASSIST WITH SET UP, THAT’S ALWAYS APPRECIATED.

Shooters: This month we will have three stages; one pistol only, one rifle only, and one both. Make sure you have at least 50 rounds for each. Ranges will be from 3 to 50 yards. Much of the pistol will be strong-hand-only, so make sure you know how to manipulate your light/whatever with one hand and, if you don’t have a weapon mounted light, start thinking about how you solve the stage with no support hand.

The rifle only portion will be a “team stage,” where the team that gets the most total hits wins; the other two will be individual events. (We will form teams once everyone arrives – you don’t have to come with a pre-made team.)

This is a night match, and we will be shooting in various lighting conditions, so bring your NODs if you have them, make sure your weapon mounted (or handheld) light batteries are charged, your mounts are secure, and everything is working prior to coming out.

NOTE – THIS IS A DAY MATCH, we will do our normal night shoot in July, and a combined night shoot with Low Light Tactical in August.

Shooters: This month we will be shooting pistol and rifle; have at least 50 rounds for each. Ranges will be from 3 to 50 yards. Safety brief will be at 9:45, and first rounds down range will start at 10:00 sharp.

We will be introducing a new and unique feature this month. I don’t want to give too much away, but poor use of cover will be heavily penalized, so keep that in mind. We will also be moving, lifting/carrying a moderate weight, and throwing something, so limber up!

The Man Card Drill will be run BEFORE the main match, starting at 9:15. If you want to participate, be there by 9:00.

Monthly Match Info:

  • Urban Tactical Match Info for APRIL 18, 2026:
    Shooters,
         This month we will be doing pistol and SHOTGUN. Shotgun round count will be a minimum 10 rds of birdshot and 2 rounds of buck or slug. We will be working on keeping the shotgun fed, so plan on doing a lot of loading and shooting – practice your manipulation skills! Also, the stage is designed to accommodate double-barreled shotguns, so if you want to bring out your old coach gun, this would be the match for it.
         For pistol, we will be doing shots from 10 to 40 yards, and will be incorporating one-hand-only shooting. Concealment not required, but will earn you a bonus.
         For the Man Card drill, please bring a PCC if you have one and are willing to use it during the drill. We can shoot those on steel, and it will help speed things along.
         Forecast calls for sunny and a high of 80 – bring your sunscreen/water.
         Safety brief at 9:45, range goes hot at 10:00 sharp!
  • Urban Tactical Match Info for FEBRUARY 21, 2026: We will be shooting pistol and rifle/PCC, out to around 50 yards. You will not need concealment. You will need at least one spare magazine. (NOTE: Range/range road may be closed. If this is the case, the match will be cancelled. I will try to update this page as soon as such a closure is confirmed.)
